Breakfast Cookies

2/3  cup butter -- softened
2/3  cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4  cup flour
1/2  teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2  cups oats
1/2  cup wheat germ or bran (I usually use the bran...tastes better)


Stir together the butter, sugar, egg and vanilla.  Add the rest of the
ingredients; combine.  Drop onto ungreased cookie sheets.  Bake at 350
degrees F. for 12 - 15 minutes.
